Community Guidelines (Updated August 19, 2020)

Racism, Discrimination, and Hate Speech:

Racism, discrimination and hate speech is not allowed on any Giving Forward domain or property. Hate Speech creates an environment of intimidation and exclusion and in carries the risk that it may promote real-world violence. We reserve the right to remove content if in our opinion it is promoting violence or hatred against individuals or groups based on any of the following attributes:

  • Age
  • Caste
  • Disability
  • Ethnicity
  • Gender Identity and Expression
  • Nationality
  • Race
  • Immigration Status
  • Religion
  • Sex/Gender
  • Sexual Orientation
  • Victims of a major violent event and their kin
  • Veteran Status

Sometimes people share content containing someone else’s hate speech for the purpose of raising awareness or educating others. In some cases, words or terms that might otherwise violate our standards are used self-referentially or in an empowering way.

Graphic Violence:

We may remove videos, writing or images of intense, graphic violence (Wikipedia definition or other common definition may be used), suicide, self-injury. 

Harmful Content:

We may remove videos, writing or images of harmful content, including but not limited to:

  • Criminal activity or organizations
  • Dangerous content
  • Harassment and cyberbullying

Nudity and sexual content:

We may remove videos, writing or images containing nudity or sexual content.
